Rainy, Sunny... Steppin' Out

Well! We did it! Despite the not-so-favorable weather conditions, we were able to play for a bit at Steppin' Out to a smaller albeit fearless crowd of listeners.

The afternoon began with dark skies and rain, resulting in a bass player performing in the back of the instrument truck and some Island Pan players having to abandon ship. Pans don't sound very nice when they are wet, and it's probably not good for instrument upkeep either.... After what appeared to be some deliberation, the band plugged on and continued their set, rotating players from time-to-time. Go Island Pan!!

As they say about the weather in Blacksburg, if you don't like it, stick around for 5 minutes. It will change.

Once the PanJammers took the stage, the rainy weather started to clear up, and the sun made a welcome appearance.

Here's a link to photos of the event.
